Sick & Lazy Sunday

Hi darlings,

So apparently retail is a danger to your health and well-being.  Not like, shopping, but working in retail.  But actually, it’s probably just my weak-ass immune system, which essential works about 70% of the time.  If there’s something going around, I will come down with it.  My throat hurts like the dickens.

Luckily for you, this means I’ve had plenty of time to sit in bed looking for Sunday links!  Hoorah!

Throwback: This guest post by Kyla Roma on My Girl Thursday was one of the first posts I read about starting a blog and how to do it your way.

&  As you probably know, I love all things Instagram.  I’m an Instawhore.  Ergo, I was completely giddy when Gala posted Ten Ways to Make Your Instagram Photos Pop, because Gala ‘grams with the best of ‘em.

&  I’m always freaking out over being “an adult” – mind you, I have a Hello Kitty toaster and received an Easter basket this year – and the blog Adulting makes it so much easier.  If you feel underprepared to be an adult, go.  There are tons of tips on everyday things life throws at you that you will need to take care of because mum & dad are no longer responsible for you.

&  Stela always posts amazing tutorials on her blog Stelabird; one of my favorites is this zippered mini pouch.  Also, she’s a small business owner, so she automatically gets +500 cool points.

&  Have you been following Sarah’s 6 Weeks to a Better Blog series?  I’m addicted!

I think the rest of today will be spent cleaning and shopping at H&M.  I’m in major need of some new summer dresses and skirts, and I’ve noticed that my old clothes just don’t fit my body like they used to.  Instead of cramming myself into them and feeling awkward and guilty, I think I’m going to try shopping for my new hips instead.  (I gained about 7lb this year, and it all settled on the hips, boobs, and butt… I’m counting myself lucky!)  Anyone else in need of a seasonal wardrobe update?

Marvelously,

Sarah

Big Ole Whoppinghuge Post-a-Rama Instagram Links and Love

Why did it never occur to me before to address my posts with “Darlings?”  What the balls is wrong with me?

Darlings?

Darlings.

I took a week and a half long hiatus from blogging, not because I wanted to or because I got bored, but because life has kicked my ass this semester.  I am so, so glad that I started Marvelous Darling when I did, and that I threw myself into it with typical Scorpio gusto, but at this point in my life my schooling has to come first.  Luckily, I am one week away from being done!

First thing’s first: I know you’re all dying to see pictures of the dog I had for a couple of days.  So, below the cut, you’ll see approximately 8 million pictures, and the story of Cheese Queen in its entirety.

Also below the cut:  Instagrams of my Daily Life, and some very special Links of the Week!  So please, follow the cut!

Lazy Sunday Linkasaurus

Hi pretties.

I’m actually on top of things this Sunday!  Well, I’m on top of being lazy.  That’s the best kind of thing to be on top of, right?  That’s a dangerous thing to say on a sex-positive blog, huh?  Whatever.  You enjoy a good lazy Sunday in bed and you know it.

& First up, we have an amazing DIY tutorial from Camille Styles on how to make your own custom cork stopper for when you’re Poppin’ Bottles!  (Poppin’ Bottles is also the name of her post, and she gets so many Marvelous points for that.)

& I’m kind of obsessed with The Fitnessista right now.  I can’t for the life of me remember how I stumbled upon her blog, but I’m absolutely loving her positive attitude about health and wellness!  She’s a personal trainer, a mum, and she makes amazing, healthy meals for which she shares the often simple recipes.  Brilliant.

& At some point, I would really, really like to take this e-course on achieving your creative dream job from Elsie and Emma of Red Velvet.

& If you’ve been a Marvelous Darling reader for a long time, you might remember my old, old post about nail polish.  Well, the cat’s out of the bag now: I freaking love nail polish.  Glitter polish, matte polish, shiny polish, sheer polish, opaque polish.  If someone sung me a nail polish version of “Soft Kitty” before bedtime, I would be heaven. If you want to learn how to make your own glitter nail polish, head on over to Lexy Levin’s tutorial - I’ll see you there, all glitterfabulous!

& Have you gotten Paper’d yet?  No?  Why not?  Don’t you like free, professionally designed iPhone wallpapers?  Yeah.  They’re super pretty.  I have one on my phone now, and while I’m still rocking a 3G (that’s right, not a 3GS – I got mad 3G swag over here), my phone looks like a million bucks.  So if you want some, go get some.

& I kind of want to marry Kira for the Primp My Blog section of her site, Her New Leaf.  No, but seriously.  If you’re new to blogging, or if you need a little sprucing, go check her out!

& …and while we’re on the subject, go check out her post about her favorite iPhone apps! I had no idea half of these existed and I’m super excited to try out Hipstamatic Disposable!

I hope you’re enjoying a lazy or productive Sunday, my loves.  See you later!

Safe & sexy,

Sarah

Lazy Sunday

Hi pretties.

This lazy Sunday has been quite a struggle!  Anyone else hardcore riding the strugglebus this morning after last night’s festivities?  It was definitely Saint Patrick’s day.

& My morning was definitely brightened by this post on Flattery.  I love her scarf!  I don’t read many fashion blogs, but her posts are always so stunning.

& I’m really, really enjoying Elsie’s posts on A Beautiful Mess.  Her blend of photography, DIY, style, home, and beauty is really unique, and there’s always a useful tutorial to be found.

& Literally moments before writing this post, I found CheekyCheeky, and I’m particularly loving her Guide to Wheat Beer.  I have a feeling Carmen is a new favorite blogger here in Marvelous Darling Land.

I’m so sorry for the super short post and my lack of content this week – I’ve been truly swamped!  I thought I was getting sick this weekend, so I laid low, but I’m really paying for it today.  So much to do, so much to do!

Safe & sexy,

Sarah
